If you move the Shaft by hand, does it move easy (except of compression)?

New oil is in?

Have you checked your belt tension? If the engine does not seem to be turning over fast enough, the belt may be slipping.

:text-yeahthat:               Also, your belt needs to have a raw rubber edge, not fabric wrapped.

I went through all the same issues with mine not to long ago. Replaced everything that you did with no results.  I had it rebuilt. Brushes were bad and it was full of carbon dust.

Yes, easy to turn, good compression and new oil.

Tension is  good, no belt slip.

Everything mentioned above checked out...I was thinking Brushes but hoping not. My son says 235 cranking amps may not be enough to turn that generator?

My 867 and 1076 are both working with 230 CCA batteries.

I figured that would be enough CCA to turn it over...

Can you try remove the belt an try fireup, if Starter runns allone proper?

maybe the bearing are worn.

Does the new wiring include brand new battery cables?

Is this a freshly painted tractor?            If so please remove the paint at the grounding point on the engine block. If the ground wire is not attached to the block you should move it there.

Those are fairly easy to rebuild.

Isavetractors has a great video on it.

Kits are maybe $25 or so?

Have you bench tested it with a battery and jumper cables?

Taken DVOM readings?

No, it dose turn and start the motor...just very weak. I'll order the kit to rebuild, seems to be an easy fix. I just watched that vid last night! lol

      Hi All,
i own a Wheel Horse C126 in great original condition but it's starter motor is coming to the end of its life. I have stripped it, cleaned it and rewired it to get it through the last couple of seasons but now it needs sorting properly.
I live in England and parts genuine parts are not easy to come by or are expensive. The starter looks kind of generic so my question is:
Is there a compatible starter motor available?
or Shall i get the old one rewound and overhauled?

      All the best
