Nato527 5 #1 Posted May 4, 2019 Got hitch installed today. Haven’t hooked it up to anything yet, way to muddy around my house. This thing hasn’t ran in two years, got it going couple of weeks ago,and the more I drive it the better it runs. I loaned it to my son in law to use, he didn’t think it was as cool as I did. Got it back with dead battery, bad gas, rotted fuel line, and multiple mouse nests......spent a good Saturday on it and she’s running like a charm.
Sparky-(Admin) 23,325 #2 Posted May 4, 2019 I’m not a fan of loaning out my power equipment. If a buddy needs to mow his lawn I would rather use my machine myself and mow it for him rather than loan out my machine.

chip61 666 #4 Posted May 5, 2019 If my son wants help with the grass, I take my Horse down there, cut the grass and bring it back home. Anything I leave down there is doomed.
paxz71usa 173 #5 Posted May 5, 2019 Nato527, I also have a 12 Automatic and there is no doubt in my mind that you will be amazed at how nice it is to operate for all the jobs you have planned for it. Mine hauls a wood splitter through the wood, hauls wood and mows twice a week right now with a 42" deck. I'd be lost without it! Gary
Nato527 5 #6 Posted May 5, 2019 Sweet 73, I love the pinstripes, must have been an option mine didn’t have....:)
Nato527 5 #7 Posted May 5, 2019 Just remembered the other day. Before I “loaned “ it out , I was mowing grass and it fouled a plug. I didn’t have correct plug and just made do to get it out of the front yard. Well I’m sure next week came around and I totally forgot. The thing is , it runs so good I hate to mess with it now.... paxz71usa 173 #9 Posted May 5, 2019 Nice looking IH in the backround.
Nato527 5 #10 Posted May 5, 2019 Thanks, sorry about that. Trying to keep the IH off the WH site. That’s a 125 I bought with a blown motor. I’d never rebuilt a Kohler before so I thought it would be a good challenge. Turns out it’s nothing like a 250 two stroke..... got it going through. Since the motor was out decided to teach myself to paint. Quickly spun out of control, now I’ve got a tractor I’m scared to do anything but mow my yard. That’s where the wheel horse comes in , I can use it for anything and not be worried. I would love to restore it but then I would be afraid to use it.
dells68 7,499 #11 Posted May 5, 2019 Hate to say it, but I agree. If you get them too pretty, you’re afraid to use them. That’s what has happened to several of ours. Turns out rust isn’t nearly as easy to scratch! 1

We've restored 2 here and they're primary working herd members. Used to bug me a bit too. Trina says... Yeah it'll get scratches... And we can fix 'em later too. Enjoy using the nice looking equipment. It's meant to be used. Not sit in a museum.
