Wheel horse honey hole

Recommended Posts

Just bought another lawn ranger and a very interesting cart. Anybody ever seen a 4 wheeled wheel horse cart? It has a hay wagon style front axle.

Better fix your spare tire. You may need it someday!

That wagon appears to be the real thing. They turn up in classifieds here from time to time. They tend to ask $ 500 or more.

Wow!  Thanks for the info. I paid $40. Had to spend about 15 mins freeing up the steering though.  And a couple new bolts.  😁

terrific find , great price, if nothing else , i would give that a  penetrating oil soak , to fend off future rust , and secure that patina, care neglected  red paint , really looks good with a oil film on it , pete

I've been researching and hunting wheel horses for about 10 years and I've never seen or heard of one of these. This deserves a paint job. I left the house this morning in search of a lawn ranger hood for my daughters restore project and ended up with this, the entire lawn ranger with plow blade, 2 two stage blowers, and 1.5 sets of hub caps. I think today was a good day.

As kind of an offer that is, I'm afraid this one is mine forever. My daughter is getting my wheel horse "tub" cart so I have to replace it with something.  😁

Wait till you try reversing with that thing, then you will find that they work best as a flower planter. :o

I have a big yard and more forward gears than reverse. This will get use. 😁

You could always pull the trick many a farmer has used to back 4 wheeled wagons into a barn - use a front mounted hitch!  Makes backing a four wheeled wagon much easier!

I have had a 4 wheeled wagon for years now, my daughter pulls it around every year at the wheel horse show. She hauls kids and parts around. I had remembered seeing them in the brochures as a kid growing up, never saw one in real life till I got mine at a public auction.

I would not use that new wagon to hard, Its  to rare to bust up. Some other person bought mine at the auction. He was going to let his son pull it around behind a 4 wheeler, I somehow managed to talk him into selling it to me. I've had lots of offers to buy it over the years, but my daughter would skin me alive if I sold her wagon :ROTF:

That's a good idea. I'll have to see how much of a pain reverse is first. I can't imagine I'll use it a lot though. I have a cheap generic yard cart that sees the majority of the work.

Mine won't get used too much. Kinda like my round tub cart that I've never used. Hopefully one day my daughter will be towing this one around at a show too. She's got a few years to go though. Can't quite reach the pedals yet. My plan is to temporarily strap a 4x4 to her lawn ranger pedal when that's done.
