HappyHillbilly 86 #1 Posted May 1, 2019 Hey! I've been searching to try to find out what other tractor/mower brands & models used the Kohler K341S, and what years they were produced. Any and all help would be deeply appreciated. I'm hoping to get real lucky (or blessed) by finding one locally or at least cheaper than what a block would cost me. Thank you kindly & may you have a blessed day! HH (Mike)
pfrederi 18,689 #2 Posted May 1, 2019 Lots of equipment used K341s The big issue is the crank shaft and the large or small base block. See pinned thread at the top of this forum for info on block base size. Some buyers specified shorter crank shafts. If your crank is reusable that is not a big deal.

I’ve seen the oil pan differences and I’ve also noticed a difference in the number of head fins. I saw a Cub Cadet block that has 12 where mine has 13. I don’t know if the distance from center of crankshaft to top of block is same or not but I’m betting it wouldn’t work for me. Thanks for chiming in!
oldredrider 2,553 #4 Posted May 1, 2019 12 and 13 fin blocks use the same guts. All internals are the same. Hope this helps. I have a good running K341 (from a '77 C-160) available if your search is fruitless. Send a PM if interested.

I’ll look around nearby communities the next week or so and may well get back to you about your 341. I certainly appreciate it!
oliver2-44 10,734 #6 Posted May 2, 2019 The block base size and variety of oil pans used on other brands can be confusing. Take you oil pan with you when you go look at other engines and compare that it will fit.

Thanks! 1 hour ago, gwest_ca said: Here is a partial list of where the K341's were used https://www.partstree.com/parts/search/models/?searchTerm=k341 Garry Garry - When I was creating this topic I thought you’d most likely be the one to have, or be able to find, the info. You seem to really have honed your search skills. Admirable & very appreciative. Thanks!
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,490 #9 Posted May 2, 2019 I have lost my touch because a few years ago I found a section at Kohler's website that allowed you to look for a similar engine to one you had. The results came up in the most similar to the least similar. When you selected one it listed every nut bolt lock washer etc that needed to be swapped to reproduce your spec number from the donor. Have not been able to get back there. An error would come up saying I was using the wrong version of Windows but I tried them all. Garry
HappyHillbilly 86 #10 Posted May 2, 2019 I went there first & couldn't get diddly squat. I'll have to brush up on my search input skills. As you know - depending on the site's coding, some search terms work better than others but I've forgotten even the basic ones. Keep up the great work! We appreciate it! Later! I called him right after it happened - well - after I got over my nauseousness. I've already gotten a few parts from him and, man - what a guy!!! Super knowledgeable, super nice & great bang for the buck! Always takes the time to show he cares & not just out to make a buck.
