WVhorse 1 #1 Posted April 30, 2019 (edited) I am working on my sons SK486 with a K341 engine and I am putting it back together after replacing the Stator, Flywheel and head gasket. And now I don't know how to route the throttle cable. Anyone with some pics would be a great help. He was having some starting issues and came to find out the magnets on the flywheel had crumbled and tore up the Stator. The motor wasn't turning so I pulled head off to check because the noise seemed to be coming from the engine. Then took the engine shroud off and found the problem with the magnets jamming the engine from turning. Also rewiring the ignition because there was a problem with some wires melting and he was having an overcharging problem. Thanks Edited April 30, 2019 by WVhorse

I do not own this model, but on every single cylinder Kohler model that I own the throttle cable crosses over behind the engine, goes under the flywheel cover and attaches to the front of the flywheel cover at some point below the carburetor.
peter lena 9,280 #3 Posted April 30, 2019 in addition to the info from 953 NUT, i would add screw on mounting tabs at available screw points and PRE LUBE THE CABLE AND VARIFY SMOOTH EASY MOVEMENT, before installing it .lots of engine pictures on site .which will show routing and placement , pete
