bc.gold 3,406 #1 Posted April 22, 2019 Houston we have a problem, mid 70's Sundstrand calls for 6 quarts type "A" transmission fluid which is now obsolete, what are you tractor fanatics using as a substitute. Wrong fluid is causing the acceleration valve to stick.
bc.gold 3,406 #2 Posted April 23, 2019 After Sauer Danfoss acquired Sundstrand they upgraded the hydraulic fluid list of recommended fluids..
pfrederi 18,399 #3 Posted April 23, 2019 (edited) I use Dex/Merc Compatible with Dexron3 and earler. no problem in 5 different tractors. Use what ever you want Sundstrand built essentially the same pump/motor for several tractor brands. They all called for different fluids. Hy/Tran JD20 motor oil ATF take your pick. pfrederi 18,399 #4 Posted April 23, 2019 Maybe Dexron 3 wasn't listed in this 1974 manual because it was not created until 1993 ?? 2
