cpic1 0 #1 Posted April 21, 2019 (edited) Hi I have a 417-8 and I snapped the brass fitting that goes into the block for the oil sensor. Does anybody have a good suggestion on how I should get that out and where I can get a new one from? Edited April 21, 2019 by cpic1

Did this happen while trying to remove the fitting or was it a side impact accident? Either way an easy out will be your best way to remove the broken piece from the engine. I prefer the square easy outs, they work much better than the spiral style. Strange but I believe that it is 1/8 pipe thread on both ends, I think that they were using it as an extension. Edited April 22, 2019 by Achto
diesel cowboy 263 #3 Posted April 22, 2019 Be very careful taking that out though. Take the engine out and all the tin work off if you have too to get straight on it. Had a customer at work bring his M18 in cause that sensor was leaking and he broke it trying to take it out and apparently he hit the easy out too hard or had it at an angle driving it in and it broke the ear off where it screws in. Pretty much made the engine junk at that point cause we couldn't figure out how to fix it without blocking the oil passage behind it
