1996 314-8 Automatic Float Switch?

Recommended Posts

I have a 1996 314-8 Automatic with a Kohler K14-601559 engine.  The float switch at the base of the engine may have failed.  The Toro part# 92-7278 has been discontinued and is unavailable.  Can someone direct me to a replacement part or can the switch be bypassed and not used?

Has the switch failed or does it require service?

Be sure to read this before you attempt to remove it.

Simply unplugging the switch will allow some models to start. Will have to check the wiring diagrams to see if that applies to your model.
