How many front axle and steering changes were there over the years?

Calling all chassis gurus!  Come one, come all!

 

From RJ 25, to Suburban, to 60’s, to B/C series, to 300/400/500 models, is there anyone who can list when changes were made in both width and steering radius?

 

What little I know:  

‘64 models have improved steering radius over the ‘62s 

C-101 front ends are wider than ‘65-67 models

Early 953s came with Ross steering gears and later ones had a fan gear, both used a drag link and the GT-14 used the same steering components, but a longer drag link.

Did the fan gear styles find their way only to 953/1054/GT-14?  Would they fit other short or long frame tractors?

This is true to the best of my knowledge. This fan gear runs front to rear rather than side to side like most wheel horses do.

Some where between the 1977 C-series and the 300 series they changed the frame block that holds the fan gear. Then I found the one on the 312 broken I tried one I had for a C-120 all the angles were different so we brazes the 312 block back together. Had to make a jig to hold it together to braze it. Toro part said the later one would replace those old ones but i'm sure it won't fit.

I have replaced those blocks on C series and 300's and have never run into that problem. In fact a 75 C-160 takes the same support part # as an 86 310. Part # 88-2710-03

I know they changed the front axle and spindles for the 1963 model year. Pretty sure I've heard something about weaker fan gears on the 61-62 models, 3 and 4 having a sturdier design. That's a topic I've been meaning to bring up in fact.
