BCrea02370 2 #1 Posted March 31, 2019 I now am in possession of a Wheel Horse 212-6 I'm thinking 1987 or 1988 that is in tough shape. Instead of sending it to the junk yard I want to get it running and working again. I have the 12.5 HP Kawasaki engine working great now !!! The problem I'm running into now is when I depress the Brake/Clutch Pedal it immediately starts going forward it's like the Brake Pedal isn't working. When I put the parking bake on it still rolls leading me to believe the brake system isn't doing anything. Does anyone know of an adjustment for this breaking system? Is there a pad that holds the disk from moving? Documentation is pretty tough to find any help would be much appreciated. Thanks -Bob
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,530 #2 Posted March 31, 2019 The brake is part of the transmission. If you can dismantle, clean and lubricate it will most likely work as intended. Be carefull removing the bolts that thread into the aluminum transmission case. They like to break off. Also remove the disc and clean and lube the splines it slides on. Simple system once you see them apart. A never-seize product on threads is your best friend on these. Your transmission starts on page 56 of this manual with a paragraph on the brake. Operator manual for the 1988 model 212-6. Click on the fuzzy picture. A bit of service info in the illustrated parts list Garry
