raywilson12 8 #1 Posted March 30, 2019 Ok. So I got my H60 back in my tractor... but it has a wicked miss. I set the carb until it ran best at high and low rpms. It has all sorts of power that the briggs never had. Now the switch isnt hooked up, but it just grounds out the coil. So... whats my problem? I didn't check the points or flywheel cause it had all kinds of spark... maybe I should try that next?

If you are telling us that it is slow to accelerate or stumbles a bit then you may want to open up the high RPM adjustment screw on the carburetor just a little at a time. raywilson12 8 #5 Posted April 2, 2019 Ive played around with the screws a bit. got it as close as i could. then i noticed a puddle of gas and some rust in my lines before my filter.... guess the lack of gas was from a plugged filter. as for the puddle.... my tank is shot. its finally rusted through lol
Stepney 2,354 #6 Posted April 2, 2019 How are the points? You'd best check timing and gap. Also, a condenser that is beginning to fail will give a skip sometimes before it dies entirely. If tuning the carb isn't helping your best bet is to tear into it. However the Teccy carbs can really be touchy.. When is it missing. Under acceleration, constantly..?
