Bob Aiello 0 #1 Posted March 26, 2019 Members, I am newbie to the site. I am having trouble with replacing the governor on a B&S 252417-0245 engine off of a SB-421 Wheelhorse tractor. I have taken the engine apart and found the governor gear to be very loose on the shaft. I ordered a new gear and it is also does not seem to seat or it will pull right off the shaft making it difficult to put the cover back on without it falling off??? I am wondering if I am missing a part. The L-head repair manual does not describe how it is installed or how it meshes with the gears. Any help would be appreciated.
