953 nut 59,746 #5 Posted March 16, 2019 Sounds like you bought a nice setup there. With regular maintenance it will give you several decades of faithful service. The one tip I will pass along is to only use ethanol free gas, many a fuel system has been fouled up by ethanol. This site will tell you where you can find it. https://www.pure-gas.org/

wallfish 18,055 #11 Posted March 17, 2019 (edited) Looks to be in very nice condition and that is a genuine garden tractor capable of all the ground engaging attachments. You probably want to pull those engine covers off and clean out the debris. The intake for the blower looks to have debris in it which is a sign there's probably more inside. That will create a problem with cooling the engine so best to have a look. Edit. I can see it around the starter as well, definitely pull off those engine tins and clean it out Edited March 17, 2019 by wallfish

Retired Wrencher 5,766 #13 Posted March 17, 2019 Your first tractor is always special. You want to do things to it right away. Just enjoy for what it is then do work on it as things pop up. Enjoy it.
peter lena 9,231 #14 Posted March 17, 2019 your first tractor? i agree with wallfish on the engine cleaning issue, any air intake related cleaning should be regularly taken care of. next up should be a BASELINE SERVICE TO VERIFY MAINTENANCE STATUS , engine oil, rear end oil, greasing and lubricating ANYTHING that has to move or work. you are in the best spot to keep this tractor in its clean state. that was a terrific score on that horse, usually i only see/find the total opposet , if you can keep us informed , pete
