I do still have the guard and lately have had thoughts of putting it back on. In the past 5 years that belt has only claimed my snow pants during a plow session haha. All other extremities still intact!

Richard did point out a good fact.... the belt guard not only protects your personal items, but it stops the belt from spinning when you depress the clutch.  It keeps from gears grinding when you shift gears.
