Its a 1962 not a 1972 and somewhere on this site is the wiring diagram for that setup. I'll try to find it and link it here.

 horsefixer, this is a good start, the guy that had it took it apart and reassembled it, looks like the voltage regulater is on backwards and the wiring is all wrong, also no key switch, but wired through a silanoid , I could use a clearer view of the v. reg. I will rewire the w h using the diagram, I have the same one in the papers that came with it , but not clear, thanks again. mike :omg: p s don't know positive cable size, . looks like I need to learn tractor electrics. mike

Do you have any pics? That serial number got my attention. I can't believe it didn't get Duke's.

Wheel Horse used consecutive numbers up through '61, and would be in the 50,000s in '61. In '62 they changed to a new system that started with 62, followed by the serial number.

It might be that you have a 701 but got manuals for a 702. The two models aren't that much different, but the 701 is not as common.

Does it have an open front grill in the hood or is the hood front solid?

Can you tell us the spec number of the engine?
