stevebo-(Moderator) 8,527 #1 Posted March 29, 2009 I won a Wheelhorse 520-HC last night on ebay. It is the one in NJ without a motor. If anyone was following that tractor and/or can tell me what is the difference in a 520H vs the 520HC?? If there such a model? It looks like a 1988 or 1989 as it is a maroon stripe not a toro. Any info would be great. I am going to pick it up tomorrow. Thanks- Steve Bo
Nick 13 #2 Posted March 29, 2009 The 520-HC was the commercial model for 88 and 89. For those 2 years it had the swept axle with HD 1" spindles and tie rods while the 520-H had the straight axle with standard 3/4" spindles and tie rods. The HC also had larger tires and could handle the 60" deck. In 1990 the HC was dropped but the 520 received all the front axle stuff and 60" deck. There are some other small differences but someone else will have to give you the details. Thought I might add that the gear reduction steering wasnt added to the 520 until 1991.
