ebinmaine 72,740 #1 Posted February 2, 2019 Getting ready to start painting the engine tins and reassembling the engine for the Cinnamon Horse. I'm going to replace the easy access gaskets such as points cover Etc. Should I, or can I, replace the crank oil seal on the pulley side while I have the pulley off? Marv 982 #2 Posted February 2, 2019 Yes you can. Should you? I would say only if you see some evidence of a leak. Marv

Marv 982 #4 Posted February 2, 2019 They are relatively snug in the bore. I have drilled a small hole 180 degrees apart and run a screw into them then pulled with vise grips to remove the seal. Usually works for me. Marv 3 1
bds1984 1,499 #5 Posted February 3, 2019 I agree with Marv. I also have a seal puller I got from Sears years ago that works well for that job.
iaintavinit 7 #6 Posted March 5, 2019 I've done it. Use a seal puller as stated or a dental pick can work too. Just be careful to get the seal in evenly and you should be ready to go!
