Just wanted to pass this on. I got my raider 10 at a yard sale at least 20 years ago. The first winter blowing snow about 2.5 feet of it my engine was very hot and came to a stop. Checked the oil found it was very low. Pushed tractor back into garage found the engine had frozen and I could not turn it over with a socket bar on the fly wheel. I had a bottle of slick 50 which is a oil compound containing a dispersion of finely divided teflon powder. Brought the oil up to full and was able to turn the engine over by hand with the socket bar. Started the engine up have used it until this winter when I shorted out the coil. The engine used oil but did not smoke all this time. I think that teflon saved my motor.

I dont know if I would go to far as saying "saved" yet without taking the time to at least remove the piston and rod to take a look at things while it not running until you replace coil. They dont seize up without some kind of damage left behind. It might have run again but I can almost guarantee its on "borrowed time" without checking things out. Sounds like you might get lucky though and just have to maybe polish crank journal/hone cylinder and replace the rod/piston with standard parts. Like the saying goes---you can pay now or pay more later. Take care.

From the way i read Ragmans post the engine has done 20 years on borrowed time so either slick 50 is very good or he has been very lucky and the seizure didn't cause harm.
