I need to flush and change fluid & filter on a 1969 Electro 12 transmission model 90 - 2046 that I purchased recently . It has atf  in it now and originally calls for type A atf  which started in the mid 50's by General Motors . Some say you can switch to motor oil with a good purging 10 30 or 10 40 but if I stay with atf WHICH  dexron  sin WAe there are many . Just trying to take advantage of improvements in atf for my horse ! A& ny thought would be appreciated .

I would stay with the ATF. The change over to 10 W 30 is only to be done if the system is torn down for an overhaul. The "Dextron" ATF has been replaced by a "Dex/Merc which has been working fine in my Sundstrand in the GT-14. I use the Valvoline, but any of them will be fine.

Valvoline⢠DEX/MERC Automatic Transmission Fluid - 1 Gallon
