aghead 72 #1 Posted January 12, 2019 On my 10Hp Kohler, the material-like carb to bowl gasket sent in rebuild kit does not seal. I adjusted the float to lower fuel level but engine vibration must still allow sloshing. With carb off in hand, I still cannot get it to seal. Is there an improved seal setup? Is there supposed to be a round gasket also with the material like one (it has the splash 'guard' on it) Thank you.
WVHillbilly520H 10,369 #2 Posted January 12, 2019 There should be a "square" O ring that fits into the "groove" in the base of the carb that bowl seals against plus the other gasket as well.
aghead 72 #3 Posted January 12, 2019 My round squared gasket is destroyed and carb kit did not include it. I assumed that gasket was eliminated and repl'd with only the cloth-like one.

moe1965 718 #6 Posted January 12, 2019 Had this same issue. If I'm reading this right there is a gasket on both the inside as well as the outside one on the fuel bowl????
pfrederi 17,147 #7 Posted January 12, 2019 The O ring goes in the groove of the carb body. The splash shield lats over that and is compressed by the fuel bowl
WVHillbilly520H 10,369 #8 Posted January 12, 2019 I have gotten by without the "splash" guard gasket but not without the O ring.
