Condenser question

Hello, all. Finally repowered my '68 Electro 12 with a K341. After the engine had been setting a while in my shed, and I put it in my E-12, it had no spark. Threw on a new condenser and it fired up alright. But while the points cover was off I noticed it's arcing quite a lot at the points. My '69 Charger does the same. I had an old box of original Kohler branded condensers, probably from the 60's, and they never arced like that. Alas I don't have them anymore. At night there is a bright blue spark from both points when running. Most of my older engines don't do this, and I don't think it's normal. What sort of condenser are all you running?

Spenser have you filed/cleaned the points?

I think I have a couple of NOS Kohler condensers around.

Is the condenser hooked up to the correct coil terminal and does the coil have an internal resistor?

They are both internally resisted units, hooked up right. They are both plenty clean, too. Like I say, I've had many a Kohler, and only notice this after using these types of condensers. On my older engines I've mostly switched over to a teardrop type of condenser, but those are magneto ignition. Not sure of the actual rating of the Kohler unit.
