D 160 SNOWBLOWER

Recommended Posts

I have a question for all of you knowledgeable wheelhorse folks.  I bought a 1980 D160 and also bought a D series snowblower.  I just attached the snowblower and tried to engage it but it would not move.  I was able to get the auger to move a bit by turning the slip assembly before I installed it.  One installed this assembly, connecting the gearbox to the drive sprocket, is at an angle other then parallel to the front of the tractor and snowblower.  I assumed, given that this assembly articulates at both ends, that this was the purpose of the built in articulation - now I am wondering about that.  Is this assembly supposed to be parallel to the front of the tractor?  It may well be that I need to take the augur out and lubricate it as the snowblower has not been operational for who knows how many years.  Help please if you can answer this.  Thanks in advance.
