Onan CCKB Carburetor

If your carburetor is flooding the first thing you should check is the fuel pressure regulator, the orifice in the brass plug is known to plug up with debris cleaning remedies the problem.

When reassembling the two lines going to the fuel tank make sure the drop tube is connected to the fuel pump intake supply line, the other is the return from the fuel pressure regulator and will not supply fuel.

If your using an ultrasonic cleaner be sure to check that the orifice has not fallen out, it must be installed to maintain proper fuel pressure.

The stock Onan CCKB mechanical fuel pump after sitting for a year with out any fuel would not pump fuel.

Inside the pump are a couple of check valves, in order for these to function properly they rely on wet surfaces to complete the seal. After priming the inlet fuel line with fresh gasoline using a turkey baster the pump is once again happily doing its job.

I did not have to remove the fuel pump for this fix.
