hot63vw 0 #1 Posted March 15, 2009 Hi I picked up a GT14 last summer that had thrown a rod. I got around to overhauling the engine with a turned down crank new rod, main bearings, new piston and rings and gaskets. I ground the valves and seats. I got it going and running great. The tractor has a really solid nice paint 48 inch replacement deck the kind with the steel rod welded around it. I also welded up the deck mounting and ground it back down for a better fit. I have offered it to a guy for $650 just wondering if that sounds like a fair price? I have a C 141 that i mow with and a Raider 12 to push snow with and a 701 to play around the yard with so it is rely an extra. Also it is in Indiana Thanks Doug

Buzz 502 #4 Posted March 16, 2009 This one just ended on ebay and for once I think it was underpriced. Your price sounds fair. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...em=260373719364

hot63vw 0 #6 Posted March 16, 2009 Thanks guys, I called the person that was interested in it and he said he would try to look at it this week, I figured I wouldn't see him but within a half hour he was at the house to buy it but wanted me to keep it until he could sneak it home. past7971 0 #9 Posted March 16, 2009 Hey Buzz--I was watching that one and it was only 60 miles away but after years of sneaking them past the Wife with the excuse "but I didnt have THIS one", I couldnt justify the knots in my head I probably would have gotten when she noticed the other GT-14's.
Buzz 502 #10 Posted March 16, 2009 Hey Buzz--I was watching that one and it was only 60 miles away but after years of sneaking them past the Wife with the excuse "but I didnt have THIS one", I couldnt justify the knots in my head I probably would have gotten when she noticed the other GT-14's. I have to agree with you, sometime getting another 'Horse just isn't worth the trip to the emergency room. My wife is good at putting "worser knots" on my head. You know the kind, the more you rub them the worser they hurt......
Jim_M 179 #11 Posted March 16, 2009 The trick is to have 20 tractors sitting around, evrey now and then sell one or two, buy three or 4 more.....eventually she stops paying attention to what's going on and you're free to haul them home left and right! It also helps if you have a place 20 miles away to hide one or two.
