Rollerman 290 #1 Posted March 14, 2009 About noon today I pulled everything out of my shop to bring in another project to work on today. After I pulled my 18Auto out I noticed the front wheel was sitting kind of weird. Fast forward to this evening I'm pulling everything back in for the night & this happens. See my want add here at RS classifieds.

Teddy da Bear 11 #3 Posted March 14, 2009 That horsie broke it's leg!!!! Please don't shoot it!!! Maybe it noticed that it was not like the other tire and jumped off? At least that got to the shop! Mine fall off on the farthest point in my 8 1/2 acres..... Looks like a tie rod let go.... My bearing races usually come apart and then shear the bolt... Would not mind having an 18 auto...
TJ 184 #4 Posted March 14, 2009 If it ain't broke, don't.....uh........never mind.
Teddy da Bear 11 #5 Posted March 14, 2009 I read that it was actually the R.H. spindle. 18 auto part number is 103422 But the D-180 number is 104394 You sure any of the small D's will work?
d180man 5 #6 Posted March 14, 2009 Hi i never had a spindle do that but have had the linkegs get stuck in the back 40 and had to tow it back to the shed! just so you know there is a set on ebey right now they are 3/4 spindles not 1" i dont know what size you need ? but just letting you know good luck but nice old d!
Docwheelhorse 2,740 #7 Posted March 14, 2009 Easy enough fix... What caught my attention is the dual brakes!!!! First unit I ever saw with that setup. Tony
Rollerman 290 #8 Posted March 14, 2009 Please don't shoot it!!! TDB...I won't shoot it...it's resting comfortably on a pair of jack stands now....unless if they gave out last night. I think your right though...this was obviously caused by the mix matched front tires. there is a set on eBay right now they are 3/4 spindles not 1" i don't know what size you need They are the 3/4" variety...I also started a want add in the classifieds here last night. I'll check eBay for the parts...thanks for the tip. Easy enough fix... What caught my attention is the dual brakes!!!! First unit I ever saw with that setup. Tony...Dual brakes, PTO, 3PH, pinstripes, cup holder, & good original mufflers! Should be an easy fix once I locate a spindle 3/4" (may mod a C series part), but it will be a temp fix. My plan is to find a D200 axle with the 1" spindle bores & use a set of D200 spindles for a heavier front end.
bt81camaro 0 #9 Posted March 14, 2009 Hey Stephen where is Millersburg in Indiana? I bought a D 200 front axle a few months back thinking the pivot was out on mine. Turns out the pivot pin was loose on both ends . If you need it I might consider getting rid of it. Let me know.
big mike 13 #10 Posted March 15, 2009 Stephen, if you make a deal on that axle you can pick it up at plow day If you cannot make plow day I could pick it up if he wanted to meet me there.
