Has any one else seen the B&S has taken over the Allis Chalmers line of tractors?

Read it yesterday in Farm Show magazine. Coming out this year, AC colors and all.

So who wants to start up Wheel Horse?

Briggs owns Simplicity, Snapper, etc. MTD isn't affiliated with Briggs, except to use their engines on most of their stuff.

Also, Briggs does not own AC, but has been contracted by AC to build their line of lawn tractors - similar to the setup that MTD has with Toro.

Also this has come up here before: http://www.wheelhorseforum.com/index.php?...=allis-chalmers

Nice link in Nick's reply---I think its borderline criminal that they're allowed to refer to the "heritage" and "glory days" that made a brand name great and then use that label on something that doesn't even come close. At least they got the "leaning heavily" part right!!!

Thanks T-MO...

I must have missed that thread.

My neighbor has a Simple Legacy W/Kawasaki twin in it...very nice GT.

More than likely built before B&S owned them...I wonder if the only use B&S engines now?

Would have been a nice deal if they had at least rebaged Simplicity tractors to Allis Chalmers as they did in the past. Im still waiting for that dirt cheap Allis Chalmers 720 to fall into my lap.
