pfrederi 18,639 #1 Posted March 12, 2009 Has anyone found a reasonably priced alternative muffler for the 103729 used on D200s. At $145 each (needing 2) that is almost 3 times as much as I paid for a muffler for my car!!! I now understand why the PO used a pepper pot on one side (and bent the grill to clear it... I do not need the correct part just something that will fit in there and provide some noise reduction.... I have noted that mufflers for Garden tractors are ridiculously priced. I have two 50+ year old Case Farm Tractors...Mufflers for them are about $35 at TSC and they are a lot larger...
Butch 194 #2 Posted March 12, 2009 Here's $138. I paid $150 for my 314-8 and was glad I could still find one! And that was half of what I paid for the tractor!! http://www.partstree.com/parts/?pn=103729
Rollerman 290 #3 Posted March 12, 2009 If your handy with a welder....Go to TSC "or other farm store" & get a pair of the Farmall Cub mufflers. Cut them down & reweld. These maybe able to be modified to fit also? http://cgi.ebay.com/MUFFLER-FOR-KOHLER-CUB...p3286.m20.l1116 They are a side entry, but may work?
ol550 830 #4 Posted March 12, 2009 Try ebay #370103188128 I put a couple of these on my D-200, fit up fairly well and I pit a couple of turn downs (or forward) on the bottom. A whole lot quieter than the pepper pots that were on it. Mike

Bow_Extreme 550 #6 Posted March 13, 2009 I'd pay those prices in a heart beat for a muffler. Try a muffler for an onan 20hp engine. I paid $400.00 for a new one and that's the going rate.
