I've got a 1973 Raider 12 with the Kohler motor, it runs fine but is generally a bit tired in its joints having been neglected for many years before I got hold of it. The mower deck (36" SD) are completely shot and replacement bearings seem hard/expensive to come by. Someone is selling a 212-5 with a mower deck on ebay, thinking of going for it as its cheap. Its a non runner with a Kawasaki motor. Would the mower deck fit the Raider 12, also long term would the Kohler fit the 212-5. What are the Kawasaki motors like, I know it wouldn't be as good as the Kohler which is incredible beyond words. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
Mith 2 #2 Posted March 10, 2009 Neither the decks or the engines will swap over. The Kawasakis are pretty decent, but not as legendary as the Kohlers. Where abouts are you? The dealer selling it is a dealer than I have done buisness with in the past and isnt too far away. So I'm guessing Keith might be quite close to me.
