muz123 1,191 #1 Posted July 30, 2018 (edited) Picked up a beat-up 312-8. The carb appears to be pretty ragged, so bought a cheap replacement from among the choices found on eBAY. Turned out to be junk. Any recommendations for a replacement carb for the Magmun 12hp without buying an OEM part (big $$$)? Thanks, Dave Edited July 30, 2018 by muz123
WVHillbilly520H 10,369 #2 Posted July 30, 2018 I have had decent luck from the 3-4 I have bought through eBay, the RopShop and isavetractors seems too be 2 of the better vendors on there, JMO, Jeff.
pacer 3,159 #3 Posted July 30, 2018 I have also had good luck with the cheap carbs - what kind of problem did you have with it? You have to go in expecting to (usually) rework the choke and sometimes the throttle arm/shaft (some use the ball conx and some not) I just added a $14 one on a K341 and had to do the choke and the throttle shaft convert. wallfish 15,937 #5 Posted July 30, 2018 Have had 0 issues with a bunch of cheap Techy replacements but then had 2 for 8hp Kohlers which leak fuel and flood the engine. Got them to work but then the flood issue came back. Obviously a float valve problem. Curious about what the carb problem you're having is
