There is a lot of posts here about trying to remove that pin . It can be a real problem sometimes trying to remove it.

Start with a good penetrating oil and spray it for a few days .

Go to the main page and search for steering wheel pin there's over 450 posts on how to do it.

This may help

The most important thing is that when you are tapping the pin out with a roll pin punch and hammer, that you have a solid, unmovable object behind it acting as an anvil. If the steering wheel or shaft moves even the slightest, the power of the punch is reduced to almost nothing and the pin won't move.

If it will not drive out with a punch & hammer, a 1/4" carbide drill bit will be the only thing that will drill it out.

An air hammer and roll pin bit works pretty well if you have access to one, I borrowed one from Squonk and it was  so easy.

You can park it next to a tree and cut a 2x4 to length to wedge between the tree and steering column to get the support rmaynard is talking about. :)

PB blaster helped me, but it was a fight. Read others posts, plenty of information on it.

As a retired 61-year-old who inherited 4 of my Grandfather's Wheel Horse tractors, I found a valuable resource in this forum. Here, I connected with Bob Parks (Racinbob), who at the time lived nearby and kindly agreed to help me identify all of them. I ended up keeping the 1964 Model 854 and sold the others. The 854 is a solid, primarily original tractor, and I've been using it since I was 6-years-old. I also had the RM-364 mower deck attachment, which had not been on the tractor for many years. Once again, this forum proved its worth as I could identify and obtain some attachment parts that I was missing. Last week, after some adjustments, I put the mower deck to use and mowed nearly an acre of grass without any issues. The sense of accomplishment in identifying and restoring the equipment was truly inspiring, and I felt like I was a kid again.

As someone who doesn't consider themselves 'mechanically inclined,' I've grown and learned much through this project. I want to express my heartfelt thanks to all of those who guided me and showed me that with the right support, even the most daunting tasks can be tackled.

These belts have been hanging in my garage since last used I believe there off a 754 I used to have. Bought them new and didn't use much.
Don't know why I took them off. Some fraying on top in a few places from use, also don't know why but selling as is and photo'd. 20.00 shipped if you can use them.
PM for PayPal info or questions. 16" ID approx.

Okay friends husband and I brought home another mutilated mutation that I felt sorry for and wanted to fix….  Questions will it run??  Lol… what model for sure?  So I believe it’s an 854 and would like feed back to confirm..  lots of stuff coming off… has the k181s tag on the engine!  Two piece gas tank!  So if my friends on here would agree or disagree I would be able to see how much I have been learning over the years!
