Round Hood seat spring ?

Recommended Posts

clueless

As the ladies say, I'm a plus size guy, 300# before hibernation, 285 coming out of hibernation. The seat springs on my round hoods look to be at their limit, and any semi rough terrain is hard on them and me. Any suggestions for adding extra support.

Single flat spring about 3" wide?

The old walking Gravely sulkies used about 1-1/2 springs doubled up. The 2nd spring goes about 1/2 way up to the seat.

This one is shorter than mine but you get the idea.

Maybe stuff a coil spring inside of the original spring.

Adding more tension will probably make a more rougher ride.

How about using spacers under the spring at the trans to raise it up? Low tire pressure will absorb some of shock too. And a seat cushion.

Just though of a solution! Air bag for air ride system
