clintonnut 126 #1 Posted March 2, 2009 HEY EVERYONE!! I'm sure many people are having fun in the snow!!!! My tractor was getting a workout. I've had the snowblower for 3 years and this was the first time it got a good workout!!! . It worked well and that 6.5hp Clinton had plenty of torque to keep it spinning. The engine has a bigger pulley so the snowblower will spin faster. I only had one problem and that was the lift rod somehow sipped past the hold pin on the snowblower but that was a 10 minute fix with a better pin and a washer. I think I should wax the chute because it would clog every once in a while if the blower wasn't spinning fast enough. I would love to see your tractors working!! Docwheelhorse 2,740 #2 Posted March 2, 2009 How much bigger of a pulley!!! LOL---that snowblower looks like its spinning fast enough to scare even Scotty (CAPTAIN SHE CAN'T GO ANY FASTER---SHE'LL BLOW TO PIECES!!) Nice Pic Tony
clintonnut 126 #3 Posted March 2, 2009 About 1 inch bigger. It kinda scared my mom when it was on but there were no vibrations amazingly. Just keep it well greased and it'll be fine. Charlie Attached Image
Rollerman 290 #4 Posted March 2, 2009 Charlie I ran a snowblower on a Lawn Ranger this winter...supriseing what a lower HP tractor can do. I don't have a bigger drive pulley for the blower...but the blower did come with a differant 3 groove pulley with a smaller groove...maybe to slow down the tractor a little? I just shot my shoot an auger with silicone spray prior to working...seemed to help. Now...about the rack of weights under your tractor? How about some detailed pics.
clintonnut 126 #5 Posted March 2, 2009 The barbell weights were for tractor pulling but I removed the weights between the 2 braces and the snowblower lift fits right in there. The barbells are $6 from walmart and they fit just right. The tube is 1" The braces are made out of bar stock and are 7 inches from hole to hole and mount at the hood stand bolt in the frame. I've put 220 lbs. on the rack and it can pull anything. Charlie Attached Image
iicap 1 #6 Posted March 2, 2009 Nice pics, the barbell weights caught my eyes too, thought they were for blowing traction
clintonnut 126 #7 Posted March 2, 2009 Yea that blower definately takes weight off of the rear wheels due to leverage. I didn't have any problems with traction except on some icy spots but I never got stuck. I have a spring on the lift flag but I think I'll put another one on there because it is hard to lift. Click on my username to see a beauty shot of the tractor. Definately some good pics in this weather. Charlie Attached Image
