Guest fireman #4 Posted March 1, 2009 I have to work tomorrow my 24 hour shift so no seat time for me . I will go in tonight so I won't have to make the 40 mile commute with all the maniacs with two wheel drive on the road in the morning. Looks like the wife will have all the fun this storm . Good thing my plow tractor, the C81, is my least favorite of the herd .
Operator 7 #5 Posted March 1, 2009 When you guys out east get your snow does it get below 0 the next day like over here in the central states? Cabs help but still cold. Randy
Docwheelhorse 2,740 #6 Posted March 1, 2009 Just the opposite.... when the snow stops it tends to get very sunny and warm up 5-10 degrees. Here in Connecticut we rarely see 0... we flirt with it but 5-10 above is usually as close as we get. Tony P.S.--If this storm takes me out you can all fight for my herd, parts and attachments.... just tell my wife I said it was OK.
Operator 7 #7 Posted March 1, 2009 Right now it is 10 above at 9:00 am, sunny but cold. Winter is getting very old. You guys are lucky! Randy

MaineDad 87 #10 Posted March 1, 2009 We've got enough cussid snow up here already! Another 14 inches plus for tomorrow is predicted with high wind warnings to boot. If the track comes a little more east, we may get even more. The generator is still warm from last week's storm that caused us to loose power for 3 days. Have fun down there in CT. If you ever need more seat time, drive on up here and I'll let you play with one of my WH's
Operator 7 #11 Posted March 1, 2009 Micah did you ever get a different generator? Too bad you aren't closer to me I'd sell you a 4 cyl. Onan 12KW. I start him a couple times a year but haven't needed him for a very long time. Randy

MaineDad 87 #13 Posted March 1, 2009 Micah did you ever get a different generator? Too bad you aren't closer to me I'd sell you a 4 cyl. Onan 12KW. I start him a couple times a year but haven't needed him for a very long time. Randy Randy, Have not purchased the new generator yet. My next door neighbor is coordinating a group purchase with some of his co-workers to get a better deal. I'd like to pull the trigger now, but if I wait a couple of weeks for another couple of guys, I can save about $100 on the deal. Too bad you are so far away, a 12KW Onan would be sweet to have!
