Front Spindles/Wheels Narrow or Wide

Recommended Posts

Im about to dive off into the tire adventure on my c-100 (wide front wheel).  I need one spindle and one rim for sure and thinking about switching to narrow wheels.  I like the look of the 400x8 tri rib, but is there any advantage or disadvantage to running a wide wheel on the front besides price? I see those 16x6.50-8s are a lot more expensive than the narrow ones.

I’m primarily going to be using this for pulling a harrow, wagon, blade on the front, and cleaning up woods.  If I decide to go with the narrow tires, what is the hub measurement on the narrow rims, and what’s the deal on the spindles? Shorter spindles or spacers?

Ive also seem some 400x8 tires on the wide wheels.  How does that work out?

Thanks!

I have a few spindles from C series... do you want left or right side?  May also have a set of rims for 6.5 x 8 tires.  May have rims for 4.8 also..not sure but will have a look-c .  On the spindles... is your wheel held on by a Circlip, cotter pin, or 3/8 bolt ????
