56servi 28 #1 Posted February 17, 2018 Took off the wear bar from my 79360 show blower today & it has lots of wear. The front edge is beveled and worn uneven front to back. I read that you can reverse the bar & reuse. Does this mean rotating the bar 180 deg so the bevel is now at the back side. Does a new bar have right angle edges on both sides
WVHillbilly520H 10,376 #2 Posted February 17, 2018 Flip it over as in the square edge is at the bottom now, the bevel edge came about from wear as it rode over the driveway/sidewalk surfaces, Jeff.

mikeeyre74 289 #5 Posted February 18, 2018 Where does this piece even go? My single stage doesn’t have one… Is this something I can retrofit?

I think the early versions with steel wheels wire chute crank and short chute didn't have the replaceable wear/scraper bars just the newer tall chute versions. 56servi 28 #7 Posted February 18, 2018 Correct My old short chute blower has no bar. The tall chute I just got has the bar. It goes across the bottom on the impeller housing. the pict shows the square holes that are used to mount the bar.
mikeeyre74 289 #8 Posted February 19, 2018 Mmmmm. Newer tall chute. Copy that.
Sarge 3,464 #9 Posted February 19, 2018 The older housings can be modified to run with a replaceable wear/cutting edge - I plan to rebuild the housing on my old one this summer if I can get the time. I'll just cut it in and weld it along with the other housing repairs - this one is beaten badly , as most are. Sarge
