 Finally got round to replacing the exhaust valve in the C-125s engine. Valve ground in, tappets set and head replaced. May get round to fitting it tomorrow if it stays fine.

My insurance agent  has a mowing service, just us peons mow and use little tractors. 

Do you think he would understand those of us that actually ?

My  long time insurance agent, Mantze Miller,  is 300 yds. down the road.  We worked out 3 days a week at the Fitness Factory Gym till Mantze passed away a few years ago.

There has never been an insurance agent in my home, even when I had a lightning strike that caused  damage to breaker panels, appliances, garage door openers, TVs, etc.

I submitted quotes from  plumbers, electricians, appliance repair guys to Mantze and received a check in two weeks to cover everything.

I guess it pays to shop local and know your Mom and Pop business owners.

This is what working people do:

I had actually thought about mentioning that many agents use mowing services in my original comments.  I know that agent that I have been supporting all these years hires a service to mow her BIG yard in front of her HUGE house.  Years ago when I had access to wood and used wood to heat our house, I had a wood furnace that I burned hedge in.  It was hot and made the prettiest white ashes.  Nice warm heat especially when compared to electric heat pump.  I like your wood splitter emoji!

  Fitted the engine back in the C-125 this afternoon. I have solid spacers instead of the rubber anti vibration ones. The original ones had succumbed to age.

  Now twice the front RH  bolt has broken. Hi tensile cap heads. This made me think that the wobble plate, being of pressed steel, had a bit of a twist. 

  Suspicion proved correct. Bolted down the front bolts and the plate had quite a gap on the LH side rear. The RH side rear also had a slight gap. Just thous'. Nothing to bother about. I found a washer that was a good fit in the LH gap. Cut a slot in it and inserted that. Hope fully no more broken bolts. Time will tell. Still got all the bits and bobs to refit.

Thanks eb, hoping the extra 300 lb on the rear will help with the wheel slip. Doesn't look like anything snow-wise to challenge it in the next two weeks.

Spent some time in the garage this afternoon tearing into the carb on my Bronco 14. I ran it out of gas recently and it started running bad after that. I plan on using it for snow blowing so kinda need it running. I’ve opened the carb and successfully cleaned it from the top before. But after seeing how much ethanol jelly was on the inside I decided I better pull the engine shroud off and pull the whole intake off and clean it out the right way. Cleaned some of the gunk out of the cooling fins while I was in there and replaced the fuel lines and fuel filter. Put it back together and once it got gas it fired up and ran great. Even tho Alex is at his moms this weekend I kept him in the loop with pictures and video. Now to do tire chains and fix the flat front tire. https://youtube.com/shorts/6Hx7S6K7RNg?feature=share

 

I also used Aiden’s 856 to bring in a small load of fire wood. That thing is one smooth running tractor.

I definitely would. We do that at work with our chainsaws and stuff. Another option is I could just remember to actually treat my gas or not let tractors sit so long lol.

I know!

  In my case I like to have 6 Wheel Horses here. Easy to store and keep track of maintenance. I somehow have crept up to 9 or 10. So three need to go. It’s not easy cutting them free I’ll admit.

Non ethanol gas is the ONLY option to keep the ethanol pearls out.

  I can’t prove it but I’m sure non-ethanol has a longer shelf life than treated ethanol fuel.
