@76c12091520h  great work on that  !  2 questions , what did you use on the bottom side for that black finish ?  what did you use for spindle grease lubricant ?   deck maintenance and  regular look around inspections , have been the standard for me , sure has paid off , pete

Had time for extraction of old Smokey the k181 for the B80 after work today.

I have a replacement that I rebuilt and is running great and ready to go in after I clean her up a bit.

Anyone from PA know if Innerst Auto Co.still in business?

some lead out of a contractors pencil and crushed it to use as a dry lube.

That's using the old noggin for something other than a hat rack! Best get it off the trailer before the weight of it flattens the tires!

Got the tow valve open & unloaded the tractor. Rolls pretty easy too:unsure:, the front tires made it a whole 6" off the ramps before it came to a stop again:lol:. It's about like trying to push a 1000lb rock.

I don't think the ignition switch is correct. Might have to add a solenoid or replace the key switch.

Looks like that may be the right one.

Why do you think it's not correct?

Well the cables seem to big for the switch. Also it uses a different key then my other ones.

The wires have to be heavy to carry the correct current on that type of switch

Cables need to be big. minimum 6 ga. The correct switch isn't any bigger. It's the rating of the internal contacts what counts. Should be 70 Amp switch 3 terminal. There is a possibility that some one replaced it with a generic 3 terminal switch at some point.

Thanks, I will keep it in mind. Going over everything first to see what I'm going to need. I know it's going to need a lot. I need to cut corners where I can. I know I have good solenoids already. I want to use what I have on hand before buying anything. Like on the last project.... the 875 quickly added up and before you know it you have more into it then what it's worth. I planned on keeping the 875 so I didn't care. Also the 875 was in much better condition then this 856. Remember this 856 had sat out in the weeds for decades. It's more of a challenge just to see if it can run and drive again. Here it is before we dragged it out. It is in rough shape.

METAL BENDER

I bought my first toro Wheel horse 312-8 hydro classic,I have been looking for the model/year info.I have the motor info, deck info but not the frame numbers yet.I believe its an 87 but not the month ,model, serial #s yet. This thing is huge lol and I have an over grown acre of 18 to about 20 inches of grass the cut this morning so I'm getting her ready.I have one issue the motion control shifter will not lock in forward its slipping out unless I hold it in gear.It stays in neutral and reverse fine.other than that I'm greasing things up and checking fluids. Its new to me so I don't know what brands of fluids I'm using so after I cut today I'm going to change out and flush everything so I know whats what from there on.If anyone has any advice on finding the serial numbers or the shifter by all means share the wisdom .
