Looks good to me. Can that welder be converted to gas and solid wire? It would be much cleaner.

My old welder can. I dont think this new little one can but im not sure. I wouldnt go with gas anyways just cause of the convenience and how little i use the machine plus i dont have a shop so all my welding gets done underneath my deck with a long extension cord😂 one day that will change

New spark plug and she started right up. Got a champion h10c and a autolite 216 if anyone is wondering for the k301s. Also just test fit the loader subframe/weight bracket. I think it looks pretty good. Just need to bolt it to the rear end, bolt it to the frame, and bolt it to the loader cross member.

More progress. 2 110 lb drums on there just resting there for now. Need to weld on some studs to bolt them down to. Looking good. Think i may have a small trans leak again but could be residual. Luckily i still have the trans pullstart sent me sitting in its crate waiting to be used

Jhook ---that black smoke and not starting with what you tried would send me to the plug.---Problem it is so black with carbon it could not fire through it . I would clean --or---replace it. and fix the to much gas problem ---to stop the black smoke.   IMHO

Sorry this seems late but I hadn't read your last post about getting it running---Thanks --the best to you and yours ---sparkie.

You were spot on with the plug. Which leads me to my next issue. The k301 is shooting sparks out the exhaust. Not sure if its an issue. I assume i need to pull the head to fix whatever it is. Hopefully someone on here knows whats wrong.

Probably just needs the carbon removed.

What would you do just pull the head and clean everything up and replace the head gasket? Or just run it and let it burn off

That's your best bet, pull the head and clean out the carbon. Easy job to do, it's really the only way to remove the carbon.

Installed an hour meter and re-wrapped the steering wheel cover.

I used this one after getting a cheaper piece of junk that I returned.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002IZDIU4/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Don't be tempted to cheap out and get one of these:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01MDQJ9WB/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o05_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1

That crappy plastic bracket that is supposed to hold it to the panel will not.  It kept popping off no matter what I tried. (short of gluing it into the panel) and the black bezel didn't match the ammeter.

The wheel wrap was from my old Scirocco YEARS ago.  I think the black dacron cord looks MUCH better than that ratty white crap I had on there.

Today I did the back tires on the 854, turned out as nice as the fronts. Anybody with a rear discharge deck knows what  happens to the inside of the rear tires. Just a good thorough cleaning, no tire paint ; as nice a set of 50+ year old  used tires I've seen.

When my WH was shooting fire out I just had to get the gas to air right ----But have heard of the timing or valves making it do the same thing.  Good luck.

Not necessarily shooting fire, just sparks here and there

Trina and I did some more work to her 867 Pigpen today. I got the switch for the lights in the dash along the forward part of the harness.

We removed the headlamp bucket and Trina cleaned it up and painted it bright copper. Looks awesome.

I fabbed up the brackets for the front weight. She painted them and we put the weight on. The weight is either 40 or 45 pounds.

After installing that and chains on the front tires it made a HUGE difference in steering.

Do i see it right, you have mounted a Bicycle or Motocycle chain onto front wheels?

seems they should improve the steering - or?

Funny idea Buddy Bear.

Actually Roller chain helps a lot with steering when you get snow loaded up on the plow and it tries to push you sideways.  It's kinda like riding on rails.  I use the old chain from the snow thrower.  #40 roller chain

Adjusted the front blade linkage to accommodate higher blade height when blade is up. When I installed Lowell’s new hitch with the rear bracket it changed the height of the rear of the blade. So I needed to change the middle connection. I used left overs from the new hitch! The blade is not correct for my tractor, but PO did good job fabricating it and it works great!!!
