rick 309 #26626 Posted Thursday at 07:08 PM I swapped out the blades on the 48" deck, checked the oil in the M14 Kohler and filled the fuel tank with 89 E10 then spent 3 hours cutting the grass. I'm rehydrating now!

Lessons learned...black hoods are too wide to clear the hydraulic pump and a shaker plate calls for an inch or so shorter belt It's always something. Well, I said it's always something but sometimes it's a few things...brake shaft and one axle seal now leak. Replacements (and spares) will be here this weekend. I have bearings on hand but no gasket for the case so hopefully it's just seals...

Start the heat/penetrating oil cycle on those hubs now.
Bugzilla46310 17 #26629 Posted Friday at 11:27 AM Ended up buying the 520xi I looked at a few weeks ago after doing a little more research on hydrostat whine. Ordered filters and will do fluid and greasing before anything. The charging light and mowing in reverse lights stay on so I will need to resolve those also. Best thing, no buyers remorse. 5

Had them both off last month to install wheel studs and a second set screw. Probably should have had new seals on hand and done that then 2

Should be easier to pull them again, if you decide to.

MainelyWheelhorse 3,004 #26634 Posted yesterday at 01:42 AM (edited) Finally finished up the lawn today after work. The new belt on the 312 worked great. I had to gas up the C-141 to move it to get to the 312. it had just enough left to get back in the garage the last time out. Then a couple pictures for TET, SSS&S, and FEF and I was done for the day. ML3 2,460 #26636 Posted yesterday at 03:41 PM Did some mid-season maint, grease, etc on 654 & mower deck. Know theres plenty haters on Teckys but mine is reliable & burns no oil. Even degreased tractor & washed it too. Its not pretty but I can count on it winter or summer. 1

pfrederi 20,983 #26638 Posted 4 hours ago Needed to get the york rake hooked up to work on the stump removal project. It is the only implement I have not permanently attached to a tractor. Had to move a lot to get it out and hooked up to the GT-14... Part of me says I need another 3pt tractor

ebinmaine 80,047 #26640 Posted 3 hours ago @Natejc_98 came by and picked up his 1973 8 HP 4 speed. He and Trina and I have been through the systems on it. Changed a bunch of stuff. Cleaned some stuff. Replaced some stuff. Today we tried to start it and immediately figured out it was getting no fuel. The original fuel pump was gunkified. Swapped for another pump but that was reeeaaally weak. OK... back to the original and clean it up. I modified a 10 to 16 HP pump rebuild kit by using a leather hole punch to change the position of the holes in the diaphragm. Reused the original internal spring. The 8 HP engine fired up and went well. We then noticed a scraping noise when the tractor was in gear. Popped the belt off and verified it against a known correct Wheelhorse 7473 belt. It was a little bit too long. Likely I has mistakenly installed a 7478 from an Automatic tractor which is an inch or whatever longer. Left the 7473 on. Nate got the chance to drive his "new" toy around here a bit and we loaded it up on his truck. Off to it's new home!

Amazon Chinese carburetor has been working fine for last 3yrs since I installed it. $14 & needed no adjustment 👍🏻

The brake shaft seal came this morning and the bearings checked out. I had to lower the FEL sub-frame to get the brake disc off but all is well again
