Start spraying penetrating oil on the exhaust pipes where they go into the engine.  I would take advantage of this carb removal to do a valve adjustment.  Other worthwhile work is to glass bead the exhaust and paint it with Rustoleum high temperature spray paint.  You will need to clean up the top of the engine before removing the valve covers, a shop vac can be a big help.   New valve cover, intake, exhaust and carburetor gaskets will be needed, don't cheap out and use the Chinese junk.  Have a torque wrench available and use the torque values in the Onan Service Manual.

If you remove the large plug on the side of the carb it allows removal the .Ai. jet for cleaning.  The is a also a jet in the top that unscrew.  Sorry I can't figure out how to circle them.  I'd take those out and clean all the passages and jets first, then put it back together and see how it runs, before taking the muffler and manifold off.  Did you check compression on each cylinder?

In a mix of today and yesterday, I got the drive pulley on the K321. Once I got the key switch from Fed Ex, I wired up 95% of the dash wiring for the C141. I ran out of plugs though so it’s at a standstill for now. I did mow today before it heated up though and the 312-8 performed flawlessly like usual.

That plastic thing is a stop to prevent you from turning the idle mixture screw too far.  You can pull it off and dispose of it.  With it off, carefully turn the screw in and count the turns till it stops, DO NOT force it, just a gentle touch.  Now you can remove it and blast carb cleaner in the hole to clean it out.  Now you can reinstall the screw running it in till it stops and turning it back out to exactly the same place it was.  Fine adjustment will come later with the engine running.

I've had a chance to take a closer look at the C-195 roller I bought recently.  The hour meter shows a little over 700 hours and it is in better shape than my 'operational' (Clyde) C-195.  

 

I've been planning to pull the engine out of Clyde for a general cleaning and to chase down a suspected oil leak.  Once I get that done, I think I'll install the engine back into the roller. 

 

Would that make the resulting assembly Clyde-A, the C-195?

@Sparky Damn Mike, every time I look at that tractor I’m impressed by the condition. That thing is really nice. Obviously the previous owner or owners took great care of it. They don’t come around like that too often. I’m happy you found it and it will continue to be in good hands. Are you going to bring it to the big show?

  Pretty sure it was mowing an itty bitty city lot, no signs of an axle bracket so it didn’t take on snow duty. 
  This one won’t be coming to the show this year, probably bring my 520-8.

Finally hitched up a tiller that's been sitting around here for a few years. I think it's from an XI and I offered it for sale a while back with no bites so I made a lift bracket and modified the front mount so it would clear the gearbox on a c-series. I don't have a need for it so it's just been sitting under my deck. It still has paint on the tines and it proved this evening that it can turn soil so it can stay.

Some new painted rims and tires.  I went with versa turfs and my other set will get ag's.  When I repaint the original wheels before winter i will get a set of ag's.  Just happy to get the old rotten tires off.

It's supposed to rain this weekend so I verified flatness of a piece of granite and plan to do a bunch of figure eights and rinse a bunch of parts...
