Challenged memory?  Nah.  It is just a rotating stack memory, like the old Hewlet Packard calculators.  Your memory has a finite number of positions.  When you enter a new piece of data into the stack, all of the other data points move down one, and push the bottom one into oblivion.

I have a magnum 12 with a 48” deck. Sharp blades, no problem :handgestures-thumbupright:

I mowed for 20 years with a 520 and 48 inch deck and it would mow full speed and leave a perfectly manicured lawn. I now have a 300 hour 314-8 with a 42 inch deck and if I go any faster than first gear in  high range it only does a so-so job.  And that’s with brand new blades that are sharp as a knife.  I guess I was spoiled. The 314 is very quiet and smooth but it just can’t handle my thick lawn.

Guess it would also depend on what grass you were mowing. I could see where the extra hp would come in handy. 👍

true - and also if you cut on a grade

my experience is similar  -  312-8 with a 42" deck compared to 416-H with a 48" deck

and especially / more-so when grass is high and / or cutting on a grade

the 312 is great - but when my 416 got to around 1000 hours I got another 416 because 3 acres with a 312 is a tad too much seat time  lol

Oh.  Take it out of the memory stack, and put it in the archive.

Well I cute a 4" hole right into my otherwise pristine 1257Heavys hood this afternoon. But I think it was for all the right reasons!

Turns over.  That's all I know at the moment. And what you see is all there is.

Yesterday's post brought some new front sneakahs for Trina's Pigpen 867. We'll get em popped on at some point in all our free time.

This evening I gathered up all the parts to install a mid hitch and PTO on the Cinnamon Horse C160.
