ol550 Â Â 829 #2 Posted December 8, 2017 Can you post a picture of the whole tractor. Is it a vertical shaft engine?
rmaynard   14,907 #4 Posted December 8, 2017 Definitely not a 1973 8 4 speed.
Dan C Â Â 3 #5 Posted December 8, 2017 Do you have any idea what it is?
rmaynard   14,907 #6 Posted December 8, 2017 It is not a garden tractor, but a lawn tractor. Pressed metal frame. Still trying to figure this out.
953 nut   51,750 #7 Posted December 8, 2017 It is a 1973 lawn and garden 8 HP 4 Speed.
rmaynard   14,907 #8 Posted December 8, 2017 (edited) I am going to guess that it is a 1971 CG7.    Pictures courtesy of @Stretch44875 via his posting of March, 2014  http://www.wheelhorseforum.com/topic/46410-new-member-what-do-i-have/?do=findComment&comment=428618  Edited December 8, 2017 by rmaynard
Racinbob   10,293 #9 Posted December 8, 2017 According to the model list it is a 73 8 horse 4 speed with a Tecky vertical. They even have it listed as a lawn & garden tractor. Kinda misleading.
Dan C   3 #10 Posted December 8, 2017 Hmmm. does it have any value?it was my grandfathers friends. It has been in a shed since 2000 when the starter went. I’m going to get it in my possession in the next week or so. I’m very confused over this one. I can’t even find pictures of one of these. Not that looks like the one i am getting soon. Thanks a lot everyone. keep digging
rmaynard   14,907 #11 Posted December 8, 2017 (edited) Take a look at my edited post above. The value? Not too much in the collectors world, but what is very unusual is that I've read that is has left-handed blades. Edited December 8, 2017 by rmaynard

TDF5G   2,051 #13 Posted December 11, 2017 (edited) It has pull knobs for choke and throttle. I thought '73s had levers.   The pic in the 1973 brochure has a Kohler. Edited December 11, 2017 by TDF5G
