It probably has 10W30 motor oil in it. If the oil is an amber color it is 10W30, if it is red it is Dextron ATF.

Depends what was used prior. If it is reddish in color than automatic transmission fluid was used. If it is brownish in color than gear oil was used.

ok, it does smell like classic transmission oil but I think the guy before me put in the wrong stuff, My 520H takes 10w30 so i guessed it would be the same

:scared-eek:       If GEAR OIL was used in a hydro it would be trashed!

If in doubt you could pick up a couple of gallons of 10W30 and a couple of filters. Change out the present fluid and filter, run it around the yard until it is warmed up running the lift up and down a few times then drain and change it and replace the filter. That will flush out the old stuff.

So my C-120 most likely takes 10w30, right?

Sorry 953! I meant motor oil. My 1968 Electro 12 Owner's Manual states for the Sundstand transmission to use automatic transmission fluid. I have heard guys use motor oil. You are right a good flushing is needed!
