Change out the present fluid and filter, run it around the yard until it is warmed up running the lift up and down a few times then drain and change it and replace the filter. My 1968 Electro 12 Owner's Manual states for the Sundstand transmission to use automatic transmission fluid. I have heard guys use motor oil.
