Achto 28,865 #1 Posted August 29, 2017 (edited) I've been sporting the 520 badge for a lil bit now, so I thought I'd take a minute to introduce the latest member of my herd. With special thanks to a couple of members, I am now the proud owner of a 520H. It was picked up as a non-runner, but after some shop time it runs & drives good. Its first job at my place was to pull down a partially broken branch from my black walnut tree. Of course this beast had no problem handling it. She looks proud after conquering the first job at her new residents. Edited August 29, 2017 by Achto 17

PeacemakerJack 10,743 #3 Posted August 29, 2017 I love it Dan! You got yourself a real work horse there! Those Onans are tough, powerful engines and the 500 series is top notch. What are your future plans with this one? Leave it as is? Repaint it? Refurbish? Anything specific that you want/need to do to it in the near future? I know...I sound like Mr. Fifty Questions!
Achto 28,865 #4 Posted August 29, 2017 I'm eventually going to give the sheet metal a repaint, then I want to add some of Terry's custom decals to it. Maybe the patriotic set. For now I'm going to use it as is. I'm thinking that she might end up on winter clean up duty, if I happen to find a blower for her at the right price. 3

WHX?? 50,816 #9 Posted August 29, 2017 (edited) Dan is not a big fan of pedal kits Ed ... says he had a little incident with one once involving a tail light on his brother's car Left on sour taste in his mouth so prefers the traditional lever! It did come with a cab but pretty rough shape that would take 1 or 3 rolls of duct tape! Some day I going to get some V61's for the front of mine so I'll have some matching fronts for you. When I was a kid our CC 1250 was equipped with a suicide knob on the steering wheel for your for your left hand and the right hand controlled the donut stick . The church's gavel parking was the best . I just said it was for weed control .... Nice tractor by the way ! Edited August 29, 2017 by ACman 1
PeacemakerJack 10,743 #12 Posted August 30, 2017 That was me and my brother with the old 875 Iron Horse growing up. When we were cutting the lawn, I'm pretty sure that we went from full reverse to full forward in one motion of the handle! It is a testament to how solidly that the rear ends are built on those old tractors. I swear, sometimes I felt like I was in the burnout box at the Drag track while cutting lawn, especially if there was a little morning dew on the ground... 3

If it had a bit more traction it would have destroyer the acceleration valves, wheel spin is a good thing. 3
