wikket 0 #1 Posted February 11, 2009 Hello, A local is selling this WH for $500, is it worth it. hydro-static, with deck, 11hp, new belts, newly rebuilt engine Attached Image
Teddy da Bear 11 #2 Posted February 11, 2009 My personal opinion is that it is a little high. You can drop a ton of money into tractor or car.... Does not make it worth what you put into it.... Of course a seller will always feel differently I would say $375 tops.... Because that is what you would likely find it in other places.
whfan74 2,015 #3 Posted February 11, 2009 I agree with Mike. There are plenty out there that will be for sale......the key is being patient. If you just have to have it then you will have to decide. Figure in the cost for replacement parts (looks as though the deck has a hole in it as well), paint, decals, seat, etc. if that is the route you are going to go. That is just my opinion. I am sure he is trying to recoup some of his engine rebuild costs. Good luck....maybe the seller will budge some for you.

wikket 0 #6 Posted February 13, 2009 Found another deal, This one is a 312-8 for $500. It need some electrical work, it starts when jump start but will not stay running. Attached Image
williambogner 0 #7 Posted February 13, 2009 no hard feelings Wikket, but personally I wouldnt spend 500$ on a 312-8 With electrical problems. If there is electrical problems there is most likely more and electrical problems can cost you some money...For the 312-8 Id say400$. As my dad would say, your money do what you want with it but Good luck! Thanks William
nylyon-(Admin) 7,136 #8 Posted February 13, 2009 It sounds like maybe the charging system has a problem, unless the battery is really really dead. You could probably find something similar without issues for about the same $$
wikket 0 #9 Posted February 13, 2009 Thanks for the help guys, I will hold off again. It's been tough finding a wheel horse around here (Massachusett area) Looking for something I can mow .6 acre/tow/plow and a small garden. I already have a 252-H (in pieces), just want something bigger .....
Duff 206 #10 Posted February 13, 2009 The 300-series is a good model to look for for what you describe as your needs. (I've got two and a half, soon to be three of them!) For $400-$500 you should be able to get one that is complete and in solid running condition. There are quite a few popping up around New England - just a matter of being patient. Now if you want to spend some time working on one to get it running, $200-$400 may not be out of line. Parts are pretty much still available both new and used. Cheers!
