whfan74 2,071 #1 Posted February 9, 2009 Good morning everyone! I am finding myself falling in to the "addiction" of acquiring the horses. I don't know what keeps drawing me to the tractors. Is it the excitement of finding a good deal? Nonetheless I am having a good time with it. I am making plans to head out Wednesday morning to pick up a 48" plow, 42" side discharge deck, snowthrower (only has been used approximately 4 times) and a C165 hydro. I know I have said this before but it seems to good of a deal to pass up. I will make sure to post some pictures as soon as I can. There is also a GT 14 that might end up on the trailer as well. I hope I am not disappointed when I actually see everything in person. Take care to all of you! This site has truly become my second "addiction", if I don't log on during a day I feel withdraw. whfan74 2,071 #3 Posted February 9, 2009 Mike, I know that he wants $500 out of it from talking to him today (not sure that I will be going after that or not, crazier things have happened). I haven't even had a chance to make it over to see the equipment yet. He works 2nds and I work the day shift. I don't even know what type of condition things are in.....I have a pretty good idea but not quite sure. I will try and remember to grab the camera and take some pictures and post. bell 11 #4 Posted February 9, 2009 Scott, It's only just began..... I'll be picking up 2 tractors Thursday! I average anywhere from 1-4 a MONTH.... It is a great hobby! AND, y'all are great! I'm at the point now... that, if I want to buy one, I have to get rid of one... I just don't have anymore room.... Seems to be working well. I guess, eventually, I'll have all the ones I want... then I can concentrate on ATTACHMENTS!!! :horseplay:
WHC-125 4 #5 Posted February 9, 2009 Jon, That is about my average too but sometimes it is a little slow
Rollerman 290 #6 Posted February 9, 2009 Scott, Jon...thats part of the fun with the hobby. Bringing in new Horses of differant era's & sizes then decideing what you like best Selling or bartering what you don't want & bringing in new again. There will always be keepers but for some the "hunt" is the best part. Lately I've been cleaning some out & even bringing in other makes.....but this summer the hunt will be back on....like to bag another D again.....maybe hang it on the wall with the rest of the keepers.
whfan74 2,071 #7 Posted February 11, 2009 Well just returned with out the tractor I was going for. The C 165 hydro is not what I was looking for. I know the motor and the hydro were worth the money but I am running out of room. It wasn't a wasted trip.....I did come home with a 42" blade (that needs a couple of parts), 42" solid mower deck, and a snow thrower. I am pleased to have hauled home some attachments. He has a 1969 GT 14 that looks pretty good. It needs a new paint job but seems very straight and solid. It does run. It also has a 56" plow with it and wheel weights. His friend is supposed to take it for $500 but that has been kind of up in the air. If anyone is interested, I will talk to him next week and see where he is at with it. I am sure he would be willing to send some pictures......sorry it was pouring down rain and I couldn't get any.
