Stepney 2,314 #1 Posted May 23, 2017 Hello, all. Found a snowblower pretty cheap on CL, guy says it fits the C series, and the 300 and 400 series. It's complete with the lift parts.. but I'm a bit rusty on WH it's been a little while. Could I mount this onto my old 1077? I know I'd have to fit a Tach a Matic in the front if memory serves? Sarge 3,462 #2 Posted May 23, 2017 You need all the brackets and such for that blower , which the 1077 should be able to handle . There was an obscure upgrade part to bolt on the front of your frame to use the later model front mule drive and your PT-6 clutch setup - it's pretty easy to make one if you are good with steel and some drill bits/grinder . Here is the hitch needed for the front mule drive and other attachments - Hitch_Front_1972_8-5541_1973_8-5551.pdf Here is what it looks like installed - With blower installed - You can also use the later model C series bracket for the front of the frame - it will require a slightly longer front axle pin (3/4" steel) which can be fabricated and it just bolts to the front of the frame , pretty easy mod . Doing that mod allows the use of the newer style decks , blowers and all kinds of other stuff that wasn't available in '67 - but easily obtained today . I wish I could find the file for the upfitter kit , Wheel Horse made kits to adapt newer replacement decks and such to their older tractor models , unlike the other brands of the day . Stepney 2,314 #3 Posted May 23, 2017 Yeah, I'd had a chance to buy one of those bolt on mule drive setups last year, ah well.. Yeah I've got to keep an eye out, or maybe I'll just make one, I do work in a fabrication shop I suppose. Speaking of snowblowers, I just saw this one and noticed it because it's really inexpensive, but is there some kind of better model to watch out for just in case? Sarge 3,462 #4 Posted May 23, 2017 The two stage would be the best model , but it takes some serious horsepower to pull it properly and 10hp half worn out isn't going to cut it . A K-341 rebuilt might do the work , but they really need 18hp+ to pull correctly . I run an older model box type single stage , works fine albeit it's been beat to death and the housing needs fixed , another welding project for this summer ...
