nylyon-(Admin) 7,569 #1 Posted May 16, 2017 A while back I was the happy recipient of a 1995 312-8. The engine had a very bad wobble, so it sat parked. Recently I obtained another Magnum 12 which runs perfectly so I switched. Later today the 312 will be setup with my older (1994) 42" RD deck and will begin lawn duty. It looks like it got a little sun bleached, but very little surface rust!
nylyon-(Admin) 7,569 #2 Posted May 16, 2017 Got the deck on and replaced the drive belt and idler pulley. From sitting things were a little tight, so greased everything (think it may have been the first time for the steering) and gave a touch of oil on the clutch linkage and brake linkage. Went out and gave a quick cut through some of the lawn, and it definitely slows down more than the 416, but all in all it did a nice job. One question though I wasn't able to adjust the deck stop. I turned the adjustment all the way and the little rubber stops are still ¼ inch from the foot boards. On the 416, they touched, any thoughts on why?
