Huntemcd 239 #1 Posted May 13, 2017 What would this be valued at. It's hydro has 8hp kohler runs great and the mower deck is quiet. The guy said he'd throw in a hydraulic lift kit for $50. It's been repainted.
Amcwheel85 2,059 #2 Posted May 13, 2017 I would say $300-$450 if it was a nice original maybe a little more.
rmaynard 16,366 #3 Posted May 13, 2017 Well, it's a Kohler, so it's a K181. They were teamed up with automatic transmissions in 1965, 66, and 67, making it an 875, 876, or 877. It looks to be in good condition for it's age, and as long as the engine doesn't burn or leak oil, doesn't have any knocks, and the transmission is strong, I'd say it's probably worth between $300 & $400. Sorry AMC, you beat me to the draw.

You won't need a hydraulic lift for that deck, but you NEED to have it for bragging rights. Too nice to pass up if you can get it for around $ 400.

And plus I'd use it plowing snow and the garden.
DennisThornton 4,771 #6 Posted May 13, 2017 Yep. Grab the hydraulics too for sure!

This guy is about ready to pass away and he's pretty firm because it was his favorite. My dad says it's too much. He's sticking at $450 hydraulics and $400 without. And this thing has been gone through. He used to work at a dealer. So he knows his stuff.
Amcwheel85 2,059 #8 Posted May 13, 2017 That's not to much especially if it's mechanically sound.
DennisThornton 4,771 #9 Posted May 13, 2017 Well, your Dad is closer to it than I but I sure see $400 from here. Hydro kit is certainly worth more than $50.

So should I get it for $450. It runs great. 1 hour ago, Amcwheel85 said: That's not to much especially if it's mechanically sound. What is the lift my worth. It's all there maybe it will need a hose. rmaynard 16,366 #11 Posted May 14, 2017 If you are saying that you can get everything for $450, I'd say go for it. Take a look at what you can buy at Lowe's or Home Depot for $450. Maybe a push mower.

rmaynard 16,366 #13 Posted May 14, 2017 Don't know. But $50 sounds fair to me.

And I want that lift because I'm going to plow the garden and snow with it. I don't really want to mow with it but maybe a little. On eBay they want $50 for just the cylinder.

He wasn't with me when I looked at it so he didn't get to see it. I have the wheel horse hood decals for it but I wood rather put them on my raider 8 but they are made for a short frame

You could probably get $100 - $150 out of the lift setup if need be.
