jonw440 196 #1 Posted April 30, 2017 (edited) My 93 314-8 has a problem with the hour meter. It doesn't work. Its been stuck on 389.3 hours since I bought it a few years ago. I thought maybe the hour meter was bad, but after reading some on the subject I suspect the oil sentry sending unit maybe bad. I turn the key on and the low oil light on the dash doesn't come on.(The light does light up if I push the test button). The next observation I made is that there is only a "Phillips screw" on top of the engine cowl with the oil sentry decal next to it. NO wires coming from the top of the engine(if that makes sense) Did some Kohlers come without the oil sentry option? The engine is Model No. M14S Spec. No. 601559 Serial No. 22356xx Tractor 73400 Serial No. 39016xx Edited April 30, 2017 by jonw440
gwest_ca-(File Mod) 11,499 #2 Posted May 1, 2017 Both the voltmeter and hourmeter are powered by the same circuit and also the same one that powers the lights. The low oil switch only prevents the starter from working if the oil level is low. In these diagrams each circuit has it's own illustration. Garry
